#171 Paper dolls Lola
(SOLD)
Lola is another in my paper doll series , inspired by the antique unfinished paper patterns of lace’s I have in my collections. I have always viewed them as pieces of art, so intricate in their detail.
Materials
I used a 19th century rose damask for the background, her dress is of course the lace- still on it’s paper pattern. Her face is stamped onto vintage muslin, her crown is a 1920’s gold lame. She is holding a bouquet that I cut out from a early 1800’s chintz & in the center is a vintage sterling silver rose button. I embellished the piece with antique glass beads, Victorian ribbon and a antique skeleton key.
Techniques
Hand pieced, quilted, embroidery ,beading, and applique.
