103 Mother Mary , comfort me

I transferred the image of mother & child onto vintage muslin with transparency film, giving it a stained glass effect. She is appliqued onto vintage blue silk and antique gold metallic lace. The embroidered trim is vintage and the flowers are cut out from antique lace.  I used a wonderful vintage 1940’s floral barkcloth, embellished with a victorian button and a vintage silk sari trim for the binding. The beautiful lace at the top is also vintage and the metallic vestment fringe is circa late 1800.   The hanger is from an antique picture frame.
