#150 Fine Wine I tried to capture a bit of history & a little humor in this hanging. The center is a vintage embroidered silk shawl that I hand quilted. The antique photo is transfered onto antique linen & framed by antique crochet lace that I hand dyed. I used a variety of wonderful Victorian wool paisleys for the “crazy quilt” border, which I hand quilted & embroidered. The vintage wine labels are transferred onto fabric & appliquéd onto a Victorian black wool mourning cape, that I hand quilted with variegated colored thread. Also used- a reproduction Indian sari print, vintage & reproduction trim, and Victorian & reproduction paisley for the border. The fringe at the bottom is made from wine corks and vintgage beads. |
