Artist Statement

Growing up and living in Los Angeles I appreciate how the city weaves together a
multitude of heritages & cultures.  I try to capture this in my art, by piecing together
antique fabrics, photos, & findings that represent the wonderfully diverse
communities of LA.

Antique textiles are my passion-through them I feel a strong connection with the
quilters, weavers, & artisans of long ago, whose beautiful textiles I use in my artwork.
It gives me great pleasure to resurrect these pieces of the past –many of them labors
of love-into the present.
